Another week, another ridiculous Judiciary Committee hearing, another example of Jim Jordan and his MAGA extremists weaponizing the House Judiciary Committee as the legislative branch of Trump’s presidential campaign.

Last week Jordan and his extremist Republican allies on the Judiciary Committee attacked DHS Secretary Mayorkas – even going as far as to accuse him of working with cartels or intentionally trying to harm the United States.
But, it is the words of these Republican members that are harming U.S. citizens. As I said in the hearing, the invasion narrative being pushed by these members is bigoted, fact free and dangerous. And we can draw a straight line from the hateful rhetoric we hear to horrific events like the El Paso shooting tragedy.
The GOP’s mockery of the duties and role of this critical legislative committee are disgusting and unAmerican. It is Republicans that are weaponizing the government with a clear purpose: to undermine President Biden, protect Donald Trump and support his re-election.
I will never back down from calling out Jordan and his cronies, but that makes me the target of extremist attacks. I need the resources to fight back.
But, listen, this isn’t just about me. The only way to truly stop Jordan and his extremist buddies from running the House is for Democrats to take back the majority in 2024.
