Last month, we asked if you would recommend ONE to a friend. We're
delighted to say 96% of you told us you would! We value all of your
feedback and to the four per cent of you who said you wouldn't recommend
ONE, we really want to know what would change your mind.
As a matter of fact, we've kicked off a project behind the scenes to
improve your experience with us. And if you would like to share your
thoughts or ideas on how we can improve your experience with us, you can
[ mailto:
[email protected] ]email us.
Here are a couple of the comments you shared:
“I have learned a lot about the challenges we face in Nigeria and all
around. And, how our voices can help bring the problems to the attention
of governments or relevant authorities.” - Zulaihatu, Nigeria
“ONE makes it extremely easy to learn more about the issues, advocate via
social media, and communicate with national / world leaders.” - Don, US
“I feel more optimistic joining with likeminded people over issues that
are important to me” - Bronwen, UK

🤔 Poll: Which story is the most compelling to you?
We’re trying something new in our campaign to fight climate change and
poverty: we're looking for the strongest campaign narrative to spur more
people to take action and put pressure on those in power. And we need your
views.
If you haven't already taken our poll, tell us which of these story frames
would most compel you to take action.

People changing the World: Hannah Silas
[1]ALT TEXT FOR IMAGE
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Hannah Silas. I’m in my mid 20s and am from Jos, Nigeria. I’m
currently studying rehabilitation sciences (special education) at the
University of Jos.
What is the focus area of your activism work?
My activism centers around climate, quality education, employment, youth
participation, and the social inclusion of women and people with
disabilities. Throughout my journey as an activist, I’ve had the chance to
engage with local and national policy makers to influence their decisions
on these issues.
My research with the [ [link removed] ]Challenge Fund for Youth Employment has
contributed to the Nigerian youth employment strategy.
I am part of the student union at my university and I also co-host a radio
program to educate the public about the rights of people with
disabilities.
What inspired you to become an activist?
After finishing secondary school, I took some time out to volunteer. I
taught basic numeracy and literacy skills to children living in the
streets, took part in community development projects, and started
advocating for the [ [link removed] ]Sustainable Development Goals. I wanted to inspire
other young people to use their time to do something worthwhile,
especially young girls and other marginalised groups.
As an activist, I discovered my passion and felt empowered. Connecting
with other like-minded people inspires my belief that we can create
change. Activism gives me a great feeling of purpose and fulfillment.
What is your most memorable moment as an activist?
Becoming a ONE Champion and getting to meet other activists. Hearing their
stories and the impact they've had makes me feel hopeful and excited to do
more.
Which activist has most inspired you?
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an excellent writer, feminist, and mother. Her
contributions and impact have been felt around the world.
Which activist would you most like to meet?
Greta Thunberg - she is bold, fearless, and a good trouble maker. She’s
challenging the world to take action on climate justice.
