In just a few days, campaigns like mine and Marilyn Strickland’s will be hustling to close fundraising gaps for our end-of-month deadlines.

This is a big deal for my Senate campaign.

I’d be the first Black person elected to the Senate from Delaware – and the third Black woman to ever serve in the Senate. Pundits understand that our race is historic and they’ll use our fundraising numbers as a bellwether of our viability. With experts predicting a tough cycle for Democrats, it’s imperative that we show strength at every single deadline. This is especially true for a historic campaign like ours.
