Dear friend,
As we get closer and closer to the March 10th primary election, I’m reflecting on why I decided to run for Senate again and wanted to share my thoughts with you.
I’m a proud Mississippian, but frankly, our leaders in Washington have failed to bring the progress our communities need and deserve.
Folks still struggle to find good-paying jobs to put food on the table and pay the bills. Rural hospitals are continuing to close at high rates. Our young people are seeking education and careers elsewhere, creating “brain drain” across our state.
And when you look at the numbers, it’s no wonder. U.S. News and World Report ranks Mississippi in the lowest 5 states for health care (where we’re sadly #50 out of 50), education, economy, and infrastructure.
It’s 2020 and I know we can do better, friend. With my years of public service as a member of the U.S. House, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, and a leader with multiple non-profit organizations focused on fighting hunger and providing financial resources to families and small businesses, I know I’m the right man for the job to represent Mississippi in the U.S. Senate.
Hyper-partisan Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith has failed to move our state forward a single step in the past two years, instead she has focused on falling into party order, no matter the cost to Mississippians.
I’m ready to move Mississippi forward, friend, and if you are, too, please consider pitching in $10 or whatever you can afford to our campaign before tonight's pre-primary FEC deadline:
