John,

This month, we saw three of the hottest days on record, with record breaking temperatures here in the US and around the world. This is just the latest reminder of how serious the climate crisis is, and how urgent it is that we move off fossil fuels.

That's why we're organizing the March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City. Before world leaders gather at the United Nations for a Climate Ambition Summit, thousands of us will take to the streets and demand that President Biden commit to moving off fossil fuels and finally declare a national climate emergency.

To make this march as big and powerful as possible, it will take all of us. Will you join us on September 17th in New York City?

Fossil fuel pollution harms our health, our families, and our lives. It’s never been more clear than this summer, with wildfires and heatwaves choking us – fossil fuels are driving the climate crisis, and the impacts are getting worse and worse.

But we’re coming together this September to fight for something better: a future free of fossil fuels, powered by just and resilient clean energy, with good jobs, clean air and water, and a healthy planet for all.

The March to End Fossil Fuels will take place just before a major United Nations Climate Summit. Before President Biden meets with world leaders at the UN, we will take to the streets by the thousands and demand that he live up to his promises and move off fossil fuels. Sign up to join the march!

The climate movement hasn’t gathered for an event like this since before the pandemic. But we know how powerful mass actions can be for our movement. Together, we will send a clear message to President Biden and other world leaders that it's time to end the era of fossil fuels and invest in a clean and just future for all.

Food & Water Watch is working with hundreds of partners and volunteers to organize the March to End Fossil Fuels. In addition to our climate and environmental justice allies, there are groups from over two dozen high school and college campuses; labor and faith organizations, health professionals, families, and more.

The climate crisis requires bold action from elected officials like President Biden. But that won’t happen without enormous pressure from all of us, and this march is a critical way to build that pressure. Please join us in New York City on September 17th for the March to End Fossil Fuels.
