John,
Sara reached out yesterday, and I'm following up with how we're using our grassroots funding to change the states' power balance.
But first, if you're able, please help us reach our end-of-month deadline with a gift of any amount to support our work electing state and local prochoice champions as well as registering and turning out prochoice voters, especially in Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania!
Here's what we're doing to fight back before 2024:
Virginia: Virginia is a vital abortion access point for patients across the south, but this access remains on a knife's edge, with a Republican Governor and a slew of GOP operatives who have made clear they’ll pass an abortion ban if given the chance. We’re fighting to elect prochoice leaders in both houses who can shut down any ban at its source.
Ohio: Voters will decide in November whether to amend their state Constitution to establish a right to abortion. Republicans know that the majority of Ohio voters are prochoice, so they’re trying to arbitrarily raise the threshold of votes required to change the state constitution via a special election on August 8. Early voting is already underway, and it’s critical that prochoice voters turn out and Vote No on issue 1.
Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania has a critical State Supreme Court race this year, which will play a huge role in settling disputes over voting rights, abortion rights, and gun rights in this presidential battleground state. We're working to ensure that Judge Dan McCaffery, a prochoice champion, has the resources he needs to win!
We still need to raise an additional $5655 before the 31st at midnight in order to run our programs in these battleground states. So if you're able, please consider donating any amount.
Thank you for being a part of this fight!

John,
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended federal protections for abortion a little over a year ago, 21 states have moved to ban or restrict abortion, and at least 24 are expected to ban or heavily restrict access.
What we know: As bans go into effect, patients seeking abortions and other types of reproductive care have been forced to travel hundreds of miles, patients and providers have been prosecuted for seeking or providing abortion care, and people continue to suffer from hemorrhaging, infections, and sometimes life-threatening sepsis as a direct result of these laws.
The long view: The abortion access crisis began at the state and local levels, where anti-abortion donors invested heavily for decades to make abortion illegal or out of reach. We need to fight back at EVERY level, which is why we're investing in state and local leaders in communities most affected by abortion restrictions.
If you're able: please consider helping us fill the $7500 gap in our budget to fund our work in Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania where critical elections this year will determine the balance of power and protect NECESSARY access points for abortion.
John, this fight cannot wait until 2024. With a prochoice ballot initiative coming up in Ohio and statewide elections in Pennsylvania and Virginia, the time to invest is now.
We must register and turnout prochoice voters to elect prochoice champions who will protect our fundamental rights — and that takes resources.
So, if you're able, please help us bridge the gap in our budget to make sure we can fund our fall election work NOW.
Thank you for supporting this work, we can't do this without you!
