Hi, it’s Zak Malamed. I have a few minutes between campaign events, so I will get right to the point.
July is slow. It is notoriously one of the hardest months to fundraise in. Still, this month and this quarter are essential for establishing our campaign’s viability.
We are coming up on our end-of-month deadline, which will help us evaluate our potential for the quarter and project our ability to grow our voter outreach program. We had a strong showing in the first quarter, but it is crucial that we keep it up if we want to build a campaign that can defeat George Santos and flip NY-03 blue.
Even though the first quarter went well, there are two big factors to consider here:
- In the primary, our competitors have loaned their campaigns a lot of their own money and they have the resources to lend themselves even more. Showing grassroots strength will help our campaign stand out.
- In the general election, Republicans are going to spend big to try to defend this seat (and their House majority). This could be one of the most expensive races in the country, and we need to be prepared.
