All eyes on Nevada tonight! Gloves coming off as Mike Bloomberg faces the Democratic field for the first time.
After a January rule change from the Democratic National Committee (just coincidence, we're sure), Mike Bloomberg was able to qualify for tonight's debate, the last before the primary in Nevada this Saturday. He's not on the ballot, but he'll be on stage (box status TBD).
A liberal heads to a Trump rally and learns the truth: Trump supporters are friendly, welcoming people -- and they're UNITED heading into the 2020 election! "'I knew there was no way Trump would lose in November. Absolutely no way,' Borysenko wrote. 'I truly believe that it doesn’t matter who the Democrats nominate: Trump is going to trounce them.'" [Read the full story from Western Journal.] A self-proclaimed Democrat for 20 years, Karlyn Borysenko (quoted above) went to a rally for President Trump to judge the event for herself -- even though her fellow liberals claimed it wouldn't be safe(!) and even offered her pepper spray before she went to the venue(!!!).
But what Ms. Borysenko found at the rally was what President Trump supporters have long known.
The rallies are full of friendly people ("average, everyday people," she said), who welcomed her. The energy and excitement at the rallies is real. And the President's supporters are fired up and ready for the 2020 election!
As she wrote, comparing Democratic candidates' events with President Trump's: "With Trump, every single person was unified around a singular goal. With the Democrats, the audience booed over candidates they didn’t like and got into literal shouting matches with each other. With Trump, there was a genuinely optimistic view of the future. With the Democrats, it was doom and gloom."
Bloomberg thinks "anyone" could be a farmer; it's tech jobs that are special. For people who claim to be building a worker's paradise, they really hate people who do hard work. "'People who don't know farmers or live near or in a farm community have little idea of why we feel so connected to our place,' said Leum. 'But they do seem to have strong opinions about who we are, and when they find out we supported Trump, they look at us as that dumb farmer who doesn't know any better.'" [Read the full story from Right & Free.] Mike Bloomberg was in the news this week for saying -- from a plush armchair in a university lecture hall, of course -- that anybody could become a farmer. But the rarified work of the information economy (yes, that's a lot of sarcasm) requires much more skill, "a lot more gray matter."
Demonstrating how little he understands about farming, Bloomberg said, "I could teach anybody -- even people in this room, no offense intended -- to be a farmer. It’s a [process]. You dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on top, add water, up comes the corn."
Hmm. Sounds exactly like how farming works in 2020, right?
Right & Free profiled farmers who support President Trump -- and found a lot more to the story. And, once you've read that, watch this perfect video that Vice President Pence posted online about farmers in America.
The left briefly makes contact with reality: if socialism is at the top of the presidential ticket, "by the way we'll lose 49 states" in 2020. "They're just pandering to the Bernie people and you know what pandering gets you? Nothing," Matthews said. "They've got to get out there and say, ‘I disagree with socialism. I believe in the markets. I think he's wrong. I think he'll never get it done and this country will never go that direction and by the way we'll lose 49 states.'" [Read the full story from the Washington Free-Beacon.] The liberal establishment has made brief -- some may say unprecedented, but we wouldn't go that far -- contact with reality, as they discover socialism is a losing idea.
Chris Matthews, who infamously "felt this thrill" in the 2008 primary, is now trying to warn that a socialist candidate would lose in a landslide. He's one of the public voices ahead of private conversations allegedly swirling among the liberal establishment in Washington, D.C.
Keep this type of argument in mind if you tune into the Democratic primary debate tonight. It's likely that one of the moderate candidates (and we lose that term loosely) will attempt to pick up on it in a charge against the Sanders campaign.
The other primary candidates have held off, likely for fear of angering or alienating the far-left base, but with Sanders now possibly able to run away with the nomination .... well, it's now-or-never for this argument in the Nevada debate tonight!
And with Presidents' Day behind us, let's still remember: "There's something amazing about being an American." “I wanted to write a book that really reminded us that no matter whether we’re Democrat, Republican, conservative, or liberal, there’s something amazing about being an American. There’s something amazing about being able to be united even when we disagree.” [Read the full story from The Daily Signal.] You care about politics because you love America -- and you want to make your town, state, and country even better than before. So you'll enjoy this short, interesting interview in The Daily Signal with an important point: "There's something amazing about being an American." We 100% agree!
