Hello John
Over recent months we’ve joined up with children’s doctors and teachers to find out what experience they have of child poverty. As professionals working very closely with children every day, they have seen the effect that rising poverty has had – on kids’ health and education. More than two-thirds of paediatricians we spoke to said poverty and low income contribute ‘very much’ to the ill health of children they work with, and 87% of school staff we spoke to said that poverty is having a significant impact on their pupils’ ability to get on in school.
Working closely with these professionals helps us show why we need change – to better support families so that children can have happy and healthy childhoods, and bright futures.
