As a Navy "Nuke" operator, I was assigned to the USS Salt Lake City nuclear attack submarine. Serving onboard this vessel was an incredible experience where I had an education on clandestine activities conducted to ensure the national security of Western democracy. It's exciting to see the work and mission of our submarine fleet (the Silent Service) emerging into the mainstream.

Pictured is a scene from The Hunt For Red October, a film that used the USS Salt Lake City as its submarine.

As our technology advances and the escalating threat posed by China grows, particularly in the South China Sea and Pacific, the Silent Service and its ability to outpace everyone worldwide becomes increasingly critical for our national defense. We must protect it from the espionage activities of foreign actors. Loose Lips Sink Ships, and that's why we need to maintain operating as the Silent Service.
