John,
Last night marked the first candidate forum in the race to keep CA-47 blue.
I want to extend a huge thank you to 47th Blue Wave Coalition for organizing the event, and for giving me the opportunity to lay out where I stand on the issues -- from fighting to protect reproductive rights, to keeping our communities safe from gun violence, to making Orange County a clean energy leader in this country.
I made it clear that running for Congress was not a decision I made lightly, but there's far too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. We have an imperative and responsibility to our kids and our country to keep this seat blue.
We are laser-focused on defeating the likely GOP nominee Scott Baugh, and I'm the best candidate to do it.
Our end-of-month deadline closes soon, and we set an ambitious goal to keep our momentum going strong into August. If you’re with me, I'm asking you to make an investment in our campaign today:
We're at a turning point, both in this race and in our country. We have what it takes to win, and I'm proud to have you by my side.
In unity,
Joanna
