A Wisconsin court dismissed a lawsuit from a conservative group that sought to block the counting of military absentee ballots during the 2022 midterm elections. The group alleged that military ballots are a source of fraud and should be sequestered.

Today is the deadline for plaintiffs in Allen v. Milligan to file objections to Alabama's new congressional map. Last week, the state enacted a congressional map with only one majority-Black district in defiance of a court order. Check back on our case page later to read the objections once they are filed.

New analysis from Democracy Docket shows that there are 26 lawsuits challenging congressional maps in 12 states. The outcome of this litigation has the potential to impact at least 40 U.S. House districts.
Here’s what to expect coming up.

On Monday, a trial will begin in the election contest over the 189th Judicial District Election in Harris County, Texas. A defeated Republican candidate has alleged fraud and claims to have won the contest. The trial will run until Aug. 11.
