Sen. Tommy Tuberville from Alabama has done more to undermine our military than any foreign adversary has done in years.
Because of a Pentagon policy granting leave and travel reimbursements for service members in need of reproductive care, Tuberville has clutched his pearls and thrown our military leadership into disarray by single-handedly blocking all military appointments.

Let’s not forget why this Pentagon policy is necessary, John. Those serving in the military don’t usually have a say in where they are stationed — and many military installations are located in states that don’t recognize reproductive rights.
But Tuberville wants states to be able to oppress women — just as he seems fine with the oppression of people of color. Earlier this month, Tuberville refused to criticize white nationalists, saying, “I call them Americans.”
Right now the biggest threat to our national security are the antiquated procedures in the Senate — including the racist filibuster, which we’ve discussed before. These archaic rules allow a single senator to cripple our senior defense leadership in order to carry out an assault on reproductive freedoms.
