Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) Director Kevin L. Miller announced that up to $7,000 per person is available to Ohioans with disabilities for college, training, and credentialing programs for the 2023 fall term.
“Higher education and a successful future should be available for all students,” said Governor DeWine. “By supporting college and non-traditional students with disabilities through services from OOD and its partners, they are given a greater opportunity of success as they transition from education and training to in-demand careers.”
Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, who serves as Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, announced six regional hubs across the state that will help expand the efforts of Ohio’s Broadband and 5G Sector Partnership locally.
“In today’s economy and workforce, all Ohioans need access to high-speed internet,” said Lt. Governor Husted. “Establishing these regional hubs will regionalize the work of our statewide Broadband and 5G Sector Partnership, empowering local communities to help build the broadband and 5G workforce Ohio needs.”
Governor DeWine announced a historic investment in high-quality tutoring opportunities intended to accelerate learning for Ohio students. More than $26 million in Governor’s Emergency Education Relief funding is being channeled to six high-quality tutoring vendors who will provide services across the state at no cost to schools and districts. Schools and districts can apply to the Ohio Department of Education to access these state-funded high-quality tutoring programs.
“Ohio is investing in programs that make a difference for students, including high-quality tutoring programs,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “This is a new, important resource for our schools and districts.”
