Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Illinois State Board of Investment

Matthew Brewer will serve as a Member of the Illinois State Board of Investment.*At Bartlit Beck LLP, Brewer practices commercial litigation in federal and state courts and advises clients on legal and business issues. He focuses on complicated business disputes with strategic significance, including contract, intellectual property, accounting, securities, Chinese regulatory matters, and other commercial disputes. Previously, he worked in the Chinese music industry as a consultant on marketing and intellectual property issues. Brewer has served as a Commissioner of the Chicago Housing Authority since 2013. He currently holds roles as Vice-Chair of the Board of Commissioners and Chair of the CHA Employees’ Retirement Plan Board of Trustees. Brewer earned a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School, and Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Illinois Workforce Innovation Board

Jessica Giudici will serve as a Member of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board.* Giudici began her career in recruitment, and quickly landed in the manufacturing industry where she excelled in talent management and workforce development. In her current role as Director of Talent Management for Duravant, which is a global manufacturing leader with over 15 operating companies, she is responsible for workforce development, DEI, and talent acquisition. For more than a decade, she has spoken at various engagements on attracting, retaining, and developing talent, encouraging employers to do their part to build and strengthen the workforce of Illinois. Giudici has worked closely with the states’ WIOA and IWIB committees for the past five years, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Business Engagement Committee. She has also served on multiple industry association boards, including the executive and education foundation board with TMA, and the national workforce committee with PMMI. Giudici holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the Art Institute in Chicago and a Master’s in Communication from Purdue University.
