I SURRENDER
That’s It, Summer, You Win ([link removed])

I don’t know about you guys, but summertime chaos has worn me down. Same goes for Christina Crawford, who writes today: “I’m totally happy for you if summer with the kids makes you feel relaxed and refreshed, and I’m only the slightest bit jealous. Feel free to stop reading now and resume sipping your iced lavender latte and meditating. But if your summer looks more like an ongoing MMA match and wrangling rowdy little humans who can’t stop, won’t stop destroying your house and your sanity, then come sit next to me, because you’re my people.”

She nails it, and if you’re also just done at this point, you’ll enjoy it. May the odds be ever in your favor, folks.

How Am I Supposed To Deal With My Kid’s Anxiety When I Can’t Even Deal With My Own? ([link removed])

“My son struggles with numerous intense, unexplainable fears,” writes Lauren Davidson today. What makes it particularly hard is the fact that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree in this case: “Inevitably, his therapist will ask how I responded to various situations we faced during the previous week, and I’ll readily admit that I struggle with how to help him, and then I feel helpless that I can’t help him, and I spiral. ‘Sometimes, when he cries, I just start crying,’ I once told her.” So she’s writing about how they handle it all together.
