John, Senate candidate and union organizer Hill Harper here.
Have you heard the news?
SAG-AFTRA — the labor union that represents Hollywood actors and other entertainment industry workers — is officially on strike.
I am a card-carrying member of SAG-AFTRA, and I am so proud to be part of an organized labor union. I stand in solidarity with them and with every other working person who is fighting for what’s fair and what’s right.
In fact, one of the reasons I’m running for Senate is because we need more union representation in Congress — if elected, I would be the ONLY union member in the Senate. We need Senators who will fight for working people, and who will get onto the picket lines and make sure that regular folks get their due.
If you agree that we need more protection for working people, will you join us today?
This extends beyond Hollywood, because what’s happening in the film industry is happening all across America: executives who make millions of dollars a year are exploiting workers and eliminating jobs for profits.
But, thanks to this strike, those executives are going to learn that their companies and their profits do not exist without workers.
I have labor’s back as a member of SAG-AFTRA, and I’ll have it in Congress — I promise to you that, as a United States Senator, I will fight hard every day to make sure working people are supported, and protected, and valued.
Add your name here if you believe that Congress needs to protect working people and strengthen unions.
In solidarity,
Hill Harper
