The world is burning from the climate emergency, Friend — and anti-environment lawmakers in the House are pushing proposal
to further deepen the crisis. The House Republican-proposed budget would slash EPA funding to the lowest levels in over 30 years,
require fossil fuel lease sales on public lands, cut programs to address environmental racism, gut the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, and remove vital protections for endangered species.
What happens now will depend on the environmental movement. Friend — LCV is mounting a major response, and we need your help. Congress is about to break and head home for summer recess, and that means that concerned constituents and environmental advocates need to show up in districts around the country to increase pressure on lawmakers to reject Big Polluters’ dirty agenda and build a safe climate future for all.
The best thing you can do right now is this: Rush a gift to power our campaigns ahead of Monday’s end-of-month deadline. Right now, all it takes is $5. Every gift will be triple matched, meaning your gift will instantly have 3X the impact.
I want you to know that if the environmental movement shows up in a big way in the next month, we CAN win. Earlier this year, when extreme House Republicans tried to eviscerate virtually all climate programs and clean energy investments as a part of the debt default crisis negotiations, they failed — thanks in large part to our members who ensured that LCV had the resources to fight back.
Now, MAGA Republicans are back at it — and we need your help to stop them once again. The August recess will be the first chance for constituents to really make their voices heard to lawmakers since this outrageous budget proposal was voted out of committee. If we can engage people to show up to support climate and clean energy in districts around the country — holding rallies, packing town hall events, increasing pressure at congressional offices — we can stop this dangerous proposal before it moves any further.
To keep our work going, we need to raise $50,000 before the end of July. If everyone reading this right now pitched in just $5, we’d blow through that goal in minutes. Here’s where things stand:
I’m hoping we can count you in, Friend. Please don’t wait — give now when your support goes 3X as far. Make an emergency donation today >>
Onward,
