Hello and Happy Friday!
It was a jammed pack week in Washington, let’s dive in.
This week the House Oversight Committee boldly went where no committee has gone before. We invited three witnesses to testify about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), often referred to as UFOs. We asked questions others wouldn’t that shed light on UAP crashes and the recovery of non-human remains from those incidents. Going forward, the House Oversight Committee will remain committed to further investigating UAPs and pushing for increased transparency from the federal government. Watch more here.
Later that day, we held another Oversight Hearing on the Department of Defense’s cancellation of their failing travel booking system. We asked for the decision-maker but got his subordinate instead. It was a rough time for him (watch here). We won't let the DoD avoid our questions, and we'll get answers about this unsubstantiated cancellation.
Wednesday we joined the South Carolina Congressional Delegation at Tim Scott’s 13th annual Prayer Breakfast. It was great to speak about the need for strong biblical women to help heal our nation, and there may have been a raunchy joke thrown in. Oops!
We also learned that Hunter Biden’s BFF Devon Archer will be interviewing with the House Oversight Committee on Monday. Hunter’s sweetheart plea deal fell through this week, showing us he is not above the law and justice is coming for him.
Thursday, we joined the South Carolina Business Council about how we can work together to make South Carolina the best place to do business in the country. Also Thursday, we sat down with Rep. Ro Khanna at Politico’s Women Rule event to discuss bipartisan ways to cut bureaucratic red tape and make childcare more affordable. We were proud to launch a bipartisan childcare caucus with Rep. Khanna this Congress and look forward to doing more work on this issue.
