Coming from California, I’ve seen the impact of climate inaction from my own backyard. Record drought and historic wildfires have caused damage to my communities that we’re still working to clean up. And I know my district is just one of countless across the country that’s been at the frontlines of our climate crisis.
It doesn’t have to be this way, though. SEEC’s fight to protect our environment has a multi-pronged approach because we know there is no one solution that can get us out of this climate mess.
To tackle sea level rise and protect our ocean life, we have to reduce planet-warming carbon emissions. To preserve our food systems, we have to invest in conservation programs that shield farmlands from droughts and overfarming practices. And to combat at-risk ecosystems on land, we have to designate areas that are protected from oil drilling and deforestation.
John, our climate fight often feels like a game of whack-a-mole. But here at SEEC, we know our mission to be good stewards of the planet and protect at-risk flora and fauna isn’t just a one-day responsibility.
From investing in clean energy, carbon emissions-reducing solutions like we did through the Inflation Reduction Act to introducing legislation that’ll protect our coastlines from exploitative oil drilling practices, we’re leading the fight to protect our people, our planet, and our wildlife 365 days of the year.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
