John, my path to Congress looks a lot different than most.
But I'll be real with you: Playing football as a kid, and then for Baylor and in the NFL laid a strong foundation for serving in Congress and for putting together a winning campaign like the one we're building right now to beat Ted Cruz (chip in now if you're ready to be a part of it).
For one thing, I can honestly say I've taken down guys a lot tougher than Ted Cruz. But in all seriousness, John, I see football as the ultimate team sport. No one wins alone, and no one succeeds by being selfish.
Now, instead of the Baylor Bears or the Tennessee Titans, my team is Texas, and every day I fight to give Texans a voice in Congress. I know it’s not all about me, just like football was never all about me – it's about putting in the work and doing whatever it takes to build a better future for Texas families.
Ted Cruz's team has always been – and always will be – Ted Cruz. He's proved this time and time again, whether he's jetting off to Cancun and abandoning us in the middle of a deadly winter storm or cheering on the mob on Jan. 6. Now, it's up to this team to hold him accountable, and I need you with me every step of the way, John.
So I'm personally asking: Will you give $5 or more to power this team to victory? It's going to take a strong, committed grassroots team to fire Ted Cruz once and for all, and every dollar you can spare brings us closer →

Thanks for giving what you can and for being on my team. Let's do this.

P.S. One of my nicknames back in my football days was Allready – because I was always ready to do whatever it took to help the team win. I still am, and that's a quality that'll come in handy against Ted Cruz and his special-interest mega donors – but I'm counting on your support to help me get ready for anything they throw at us, so please, rush every dollar you can.
