John, it’s Chrissy, and I’m still fuming. I thought I had seen the ugliest parts of the far right's bigotry – but I was evidently wrong.
Last week, Republicans (unanimously) took the unprecedented step of gutting almost $4 million for vital social services for LGBTQ Americans in need. The money was for transitional housing and other related support!
I’m devastated to say that included my own request for much-needed support in our own community – a project that has the power to transform and save so many young lives.
But this decision isn’t rooted in any legitimacy – instead it’s rooted in bigotry. For some Republicans, their hatred knows no bounds. While this charge was first led by just a few extremists, the larger Republican Caucus ultimately stood by and let them do it.
I’m not going to stop fighting back against these escalating attacks on LGBTQ Americans – but I need dedicated grassroots fighters behind me to stand a chance:
Could you chip in whatever you’re able to power my continued fight for equality? I’m depending on supporters like you to help me be a voice for LGBTQ Americans.

We have quite a fight ahead of us. But I’m inspired every day by this team’s dedication to justice for every American. Thank you.
There’s work to be done,
Chrissy
