The Trump Administration just finalized plans to let Big Polluters destroy some of our most precious public monuments.

This plan will allow the fossil fuel and agriculture industries to drill, mine, and graze in what used to be Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. It comes two years after the administration drastically shrunk the monuments.

Once these monuments are destroyed, there’s no coming back -- so we have to respond immediately. We’re assembling a rapid-response plan -- but we can’t do this without you, John. If 75% of the people reading this email donate before midnight, we’ll reach our fundraising goal -- which can help fuel the fight to protect Utah’s wild places.

Stop the Trump Administration from destroying Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante: Donate $10 or more before midnight!

Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante are two of our most iconic Western monuments. They’re home to stunning desert landscapes, wilderness areas, and ancestral Indigenous lands.

For 13,000 years, humans have inhabited and relied on the land surrounding Bears Ears National Monument. It is a living cultural landscape. And under the Obama Administration, this landscape was protected and co-managed with the Indigenous peoples with ancient ties to the land. Now, the Trump Administration wants to undo that protection -- and cut out Indigenous voices throughout the process.

The area of Grand Staircase-Escalante that the administration wants to open for drilling and mining includes the beautiful Kaiparowits Plateau. The area is an important archeology site where Tyrannosaurus skeletons have been found.

There is no excuse for opening these lands to Big Oil and coal. It will harm the health of people who live near the monuments, and it will irreparably scar these beautiful landscapes where people from all over the country come to enjoy outdoor activities.

Help fuel the rapid-response campaign to stop the destruction of our national monuments: Donate $10 or more before it’s too late!

We don’t have much time to respond to these attacks on our public lands. But with your help, we can push back.

We’re sending thousands of petition signatures and launching a rapid-response ad campaign to call out the Trump Administration’s actions as unacceptable. Public pressure has stopped the Trump Administration from gutting protections for our monuments in the past -- and with your help, we can do it again.

At the same time, we’re pushing Congress to investigate corruption in the Interior Department. With former fossil fuel lobbyists David Bernhardt and anti-public lands zealot William Pendley in charge of these decisions, it’s no surprise that the Administration’s actions favor Big Oil over communities and the environment. Congress has helped push corrupt officials out of the administration before, with Scott Pruitt and Ryan Zinke being forced to resign. So now we’re turning up the heat on Pendley.

We have a tough road ahead of us to protect Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and all our other precious wild places. But I know that if each person reading this email pitches in just a little bit, this is a fight we can win. Together we can protect our wild places for future generations. But we need you with us, John.

Help protect our wild places for future generations: Donate $10 or more to Friends of the Earth.
