Here’s the thingR: I don’t have kids, and my husband and I have made a conscious decision not to have kids.
You’re probably asking yourself why I co-founded an organization that is entirely focused on kids and improving their future.
Let me explain: While I don’t plan to have kids, I still care about the direction this country is heading. Kids will inherit a world where the climate is in crisis, democracy is crumbling, and gun violence ends countless lives.
And I believe they deserve better than that. It’s up to the current generation to make it better for them—it’s our responsibility to take action.
These kids will eventually be our doctors, lawyers, teachers, police officers and lawmakers, and we owe it to them to leave this place better than we found it. It doesn’t take a parent to understand the urgency.
The adage goes “It takes a village to raise a child”. It takes our collective effort to make sure that every child’s future is protected.
That’s why I am asking you—whether you have children, want children, are content being the favorite aunt or uncle, or can do without—to care enough about the future to join me in the fight. Will you chip in $10 before our end-of-month fundraising deadline in 3 days to take a stand?
