Dear John, Volunteers at our fair booths often have incredible interactions with visitors. Sometimes we get to see the lightbulb come on as someone truly sees the humanity of the unborn. In others, we hear inspiring stories of mothers who chose life despite the odds. But sometimes we encounter abortion-vulnerable women who are facing serious pressures in their lives. Their visit to an Oregon Right to Life fair booth could be the difference between life and death. We recently met a woman in that kind of situation. She was deeply moved by our fetal development resources, and we learned she’d had an abortion 20 years ago. We also found out that she’s currently pregnant and facing major challenges in her life. Simply by being present, we were able to reach out to this woman and offer support and resources to help her choose life. This interaction just goes to show how vital our presence is at places like the fair. John, would you consider being a presence at the state or a county pro-life fair booth? Your help could make a life-saving difference. If you want to help, just fill out the volunteer application on our website, and we’ll follow up with next steps. Because everyone deserves an advocate, Makyra Williamson P.S. If you are unable to volunteer at the fair this year, but want to invest in these powerful interactions, you can make a tax-deductible donation at ortl.org/donate. |
