John – I wanted to take some time today to send you a personal note and explain why I’m so proud to support ASPIRE. I hope you’ll read it to the end, but if you’re short on time – please chip in $15 before you go to help ASPIRE elect diverse Democrats and restore our democratic trifecta. >> [[link removed]]

I’m the proud daughter of a Japanese immigrant.

When I was 8 years old, my mother brought us to the United States hoping for a better future.

Like many immigrants, our new life was not easy.

My single mother worked two jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads.

We didn't have much, but we persevered.

When I began elementary school, I neither spoke nor read English.

I worked as a student cashier to pay for my lunches.

Thanks to my mother's perseverance, I was able to take advantage of the educational opportunities available in Hawaii's public schools.

I went on to study at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and my time there opened my eyes to a life in public service and advocacy.

Now, I am proud to serve as a U.S. Senator from Hawaii and am thankful for my mother's courage and determination.

Team ASPIRE is working to amplify the voices of families like mine – and our story is not unique. With your help, we can find a seat at the table for a new wave of leaders to take the torch. I’m humbly asking you to join our team and help ASPIRE – who is dedicated to electing people like me. Will you chip in $15 before ASPIRE’s End of Month Deadline in 72 hours? >> [[link removed]]

As an immigrant who grew up under difficult circumstances, I recognize that my path to the Senate was unlikely.

But here’s the truth, John: Our country is made up of immigrants – like my mom – who came here hoping for a better life. They created America.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the ugly pattern of racism and violence against Asian Americans has continued to rise.

But I refuse to let hatred win.

I know if we all band together and speak up against this violence against AAPI communities, we can make a world of difference.

That’s why this request is deeply personal to me. ASPIRE is working to build a historic grassroots movement to elect diverse Democrats, like me, to office and defeat extremist Republicans who are working to tear down our communities. Please, John: Will you stand with us and rush $15 before ASPIRE’s critical End of Month Deadline in 72 hours? >> [[link removed]]

Thanks for fighting alongside us,

Now more than ever, it is absolutely essential that we elect more diverse candidates.

ASPIRE is fighting to do just that: elect more Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) to office.

We need all the help we can get to empower our communities and elect more diverse candidates.
