Examining 50 Years of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 ? Section 504
To honor the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act, ODEP recently posted a blog featuring four diverse young people about the importance of both laws in advancing access and equity for people with disabilities. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities by any program or activity that is federally funded or conducted, and it helped lay the foundation for the ADA, which was signed into law July 26, 1990.
