Hi there,

Today is Democracy Now!'s 24th birthday—that's 24 years of producing the independent, global news you rely on.

From the very start, Juan González and I have been determined to give people a platform to speak for themselves.

More than two decades later, in a time of climate emergency, government corruption, unchecked corporate greed and extreme wealth inequality, lifting up the voices of people who are standing up and fighting back has never been more important.

You need Democracy Now! to bring you the stories you won't hear on the networks or cable shows—especially now. We need you to make our coverage possible.

Right now, in honor of our 24th anniversary, a generous donor will TRIPLE every monthly donation to Democracy Now! Take action—sign up as a monthly donor today!
DONATE & TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT!
When you hear people tell their own stories, you start to understand where they're coming from. That understanding is the beginning of peace.

The media can be the greatest force for peace on earth. We can’t let it be used as a weapon of war.

Please support Democracy Now! today with a monthly contribution. To bring you the voices of people at the heart of every story, we need a strong base of monthly supporters—supporters we can count on to be there for us, just like we're there for you.

Democracy Now! co-host Nermeen Shaikh recently travelled to Howard University Law School for a rare joint interview with "the Squad," four congresswomen who have taken Capitol Hill by storm: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.

Omar and Tlaib are the first two Muslim women elected to Congress. Ayanna Pressley is the first African-American congresswoman to represent Massachusetts. At 29 years old, Ocasio-Cortez became youngest woman ever to serve in Congress.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez described herself and her trailblazing colleagues, saying, "To be a daughter of a colonized people in Puerto Rico, to be descendants of people who were placed in bondage by the powerful in the United States, to be a Palestinian woman, to be a child who rose from the ravages of war, we tell stories and truths that are uncomfortable."

Rep. Pressley summed it up. "Our very existence is the resistance," she said.

Now more than ever, you need a media that brings you the whistleblowers and workers—activists and artists, organizers and ordinary people—who are raising their voices and demanding change.
For 24 years, Democracy Now! has been funded by you, our global audience of listeners, viewers and readers.

Please start your monthly donation today—and your gift will be tripled.

You can't get news like this anywhere else.

DONATE & TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT!
The need for independent media has never been greater.

When Democracy Now! covers violence and war, we're not brought to you by the weapons manufacturers.

When we cover the climate crisis, our reports aren't sponsored by the oil, gas, coal or nuclear companies.

With your help, Democracy Now! is training the next generation of independent journalists through our internship and fellowship programs. Our LEED platinum studio—the greenest in the country—serves as a classroom for more than 1,000 students who visit each year to view live broadcasts and participate in media workshops.

Our daily news hour—airing on more than 1,500 television and radio stations and viewed by millions online—is only possible with your financial support.
