Hi,
We have a chance to make our voices heard on the plastic pollution problem.
The U.S. government recognizes <[link removed]> the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on the environment and public health, particularly impacting underserved and overburdened communities. To address this pressing issue, the Environmental Protection Agency has issued its Draft National Strategy to Prevent Plastic Pollution <[link removed]> and is seeking public input and feedback.
EARTHDAY.ORG is submitting comments on our members’ behalf, and want you to add your name. Sign the petition demanding the EPA make bold commitments to fight plastic pollution. <[link removed]>
<[link removed]>TAKE ACTION <[link removed]>
The EPA’s Draft National Strategy is a step in the right direction, but it does not go nearly far enough. The U.S. cannot continue the hypocrisy of claiming concern for the environment while producing single-use plastics at an accelerated rate. We need our government to act now, and they need to know that the current plan will not protect its people from harm unless we curb production and usage of single-use plastics.
Your voice is necessary. The EPA is open to feedback and now is the time to speak. Add your name to EARTHDAY.ORG’s, and together we’ll make a difference. <[link removed]>
For the planet,
Kathleen Rogers
President
