The fight of workers in this industry is the same fight for workers all across the country.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

John,

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to support the Entertainment Community Fund — an incredible nonprofit helping members of the entertainment industry currently on strike.

But first, let me tell you why.

As you may know by now, an overwhelming 97% of members of the SAG-AFTRA community voted to go on strike for better pay, better working conditions, and better protections.

This is the first time both SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America members have been on strike together since 1960.

Just last week, I marched again with members of the entertainment industry on the picket line — where I heard their concerns firsthand.

The solidarity on the SAG-AFTRA and WGA picket lines during their strikes has been incredible.

The magic we see in a movie theater or on our TV isn’t by accident. It’s thanks to the incredible writers, stunt performers, voiceover and broadcast journalists, and actors putting in the work to make that magic happen.

These are folks that are just trying to put bread on the table, keep a roof over their head, provide for their families, and work enough so that they can qualify for health insurance. In fact, more than 80 percent of SAG-AFTRA workers don’t work enough to qualify for health insurance.

This might surprise you, but even some of the talking heads on Fox News said they agreed with me, and that “there are a lot of people, who are just like normal working-class people, who are working and need to have some stuff renegotiated.”

Will you make a charitable donation right now to support the Entertainment Community Fund? Your donations will go toward helping provide a safety net for those most in need during this work stoppage — including helping pay for medical care, housing, and grocery bills.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to the Entertainment Community Fund will go through immediately:

Workers in the entertainment industry are taking on the same fight as workers all across the country — for decent wages and benefits, protections on the job, and a future for their industry. We cannot leave workers behind.

Thank you,

— Adam
