John–
We've spent a decade demanding action—and for the last two years, we've gotten serious about demanding something more: A seat at the table.
We launched Demand A Seat in 2021 to train volunteers and gun violence survivors on how to build and run winning campaigns for or as gun safety candidates. And it's working: Last election cycle, 158 Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers across 30 states ran for office and won.
We're building a bench of gun sense champions, from the school board to the Senate. Watch and share our new video to hear from survivors and volunteers who have run for office and are using their seat at the table to help end gun violence.
We started Demand A Seat on a simple idea: Demand, run, change.
On the local, state, and federal levels, we are our own best advocates for the kind of change we have long demanded. We know this deadly crisis, inside and out. And with training, we can run for office, win, and take action that saves lives.
Since the launch of Demand a Seat in 2021, we have already provided training to nearly 600 volunteers, survivors, and candidates for office. That includes valuable guidance on building a campaign, recruiting volunteers, communicating with voters and media, using digital and paid media, and messaging on gun safety.
Together, we won't just elect more Gun Sense Candidates—we will be the leaders we need, both on the campaign trail and in office.
Thank you for helping build this movement.
