We need your help to inform our administration how to save you money on health care!

Dear John,
Working together last year, we lowered health care costs, lowered taxes for small businesses, provided more affordable housing, made the largest ever state investment in transportation, and delivered universal free full day kindergarten for all!
But we cannot be satisfied with this progress -- there is so much more to do to improve the quality of life for Coloradans. When I travel around our state and listen to our constituents, it’s clear folks still feel like they’re on an economic treadmill where paychecks just don’t keep up with the cost of living.
So it is my job as your governor to build on our progress and help create a state that will allow Coloradans thrive — by saving families money, protecting the things that make Colorado special, and widening the pathway to prosperity.
There is one issue that continues to reign over all others when it comes to a family's budget: health care.
That’s why I am proud to further our work and support legislation to require prescription drug price transparency and provide Coloradans a public option to increase choice in the health care marketplace, projected to cut premiums by an additional 7-19%.
Health care costs aren’t going to magically come down on their own -- we need to keep working to reform our system into an operational market, for individuals and businesses. And I am proud to help lead the charge in saving you money on healthcare.
To help inform my administration’s work, PLEASE SHARE YOUR HEALTH CARE STORY WITH US ([link removed]) , let us know how the healthcare system let you down and help us fix it. I am honored to serve as your Governor and look forward to making Colorado an even more amazing state!

** WHAT'S NEW?

**
------------------------------------------------------------
On average, Americans pay twice as much for our health care than those living in other developed nations, and in exchange, we get to enjoy middle-of-the-pack results and the lowest life expectancy in the developed world.
So the question is -- if all the money we spend on health care isn’t making us healthier, then where is all the money going?
The short answer is that it’s going to the middlemen -- insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals -- whose business model is to stand in between caregivers like doctors and nurses and their patients.
And last month, a new report on hospital finances shed some light on just how bad the problem has gotten. You can read the full report HERE ([link removed]) .
