Earlier this month, Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans packaged the National Defense Authorization Act – a traditionally bipartisan bill – with poison provisions to deny service members their reproductive rights and bury all the progress our military has made for decades.

Now they have included abortion ban provisions in their appropriations bills.

Let's be clear: This is just the most recent incident of McCarthy and the House Republicans hijacking our legislative responsibilities to push their agenda. From holding the debt ceiling hostage to holding ridiculous hearings to caving to the most extreme members of their party, they are NOT fit to lead Congress.

To focus on the issues that matter most, like the gun violence epidemic, reproductive rights, and the fight against climate change, we need to retake the House majority in 2024 .
