John, emergency medicine pediatricians in Georgia just published an op-ed in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that nearly brought me to tears. I would highly encourage you to read it here.
Pediatricians are calling for immediate action from Georgia politicians to curb the spread of gun violence. Why pediatricians? Because they are the ones who tend to gunshot wounds in children – tragedies that have seen a “dramatic increase” in recent months.
Please read the op-ed, then add your name as a citizen co-signer to show your support for these brave medical professionals as they fight for action from our politicians.

These ER pediatricians have a close-up perspective of what a single bullet does to a small body. For them, the destruction that guns inflict on victims and their families is impossible to ignore or push aside. I can’t comprehend the toll that it takes on these healthcare heroes.
Reading the words of these doctors, my heart broke yet again thinking about the night my son Jordan was shot and killed in 2012. No parent should ever have to see their child in the hospital with a gunshot wound.
I applaud these pediatricians for using their voices for change, and now it’s time for our grassroots movement to stand up behind them. Please add your name as a citizen co-signer to send a clear message that enough is enough, and our government must take decisive steps toward ending the epidemic of gun violence in America.
