Evangelical Leaders Praise Reintroduction of Afghan Adjustment Act - As we approach the second anniversary of the fall of Kabul, Evangelical leaders sent a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to swiftly pass needed legislation to permanently protect our allies who were evacuated to the United States. In the letter, the leaders note that the reintroduction of the bipartisan Afghan Adjustment Act presents a significant opportunity for Congress to provide a safe haven for Afghans paroled into the U.S. by allowing them to apply for permanent legal status. Churches, community organizations, and church-based volunteers have generously given their time and resources to ensure their Afghan neighbors felt welcomed into their communities. But they also have witnessed the stress caused by their immigration status uncertainty.
Gray Zone Defense Assessment Act - Although the definition of the gray zone is fluid, it is widely described as geopolitical, economic, military actions and cyber and information operations that go beyond regular diplomatic and economic activities but fall below the use of kinetic military force. Gray zone aggression has become the preferred method of adversarial governments because it exploits the weaknesses of Western nations and provides plausible deniability to the hostile actor. The Gray Zone Defense Act requires the Department of Defense, the State Department, and the Director of National Intelligence to coordinate and evaluate our nation’s capacity to respond to gray zone aggression. In addition, the bill requires the Secretary of State and the Director of National Intelligence to conduct an annual assessment of the gray zone threats posed by the People’s Republic of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Syria pose to the United States.
Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn Meeting – July 15, 2023 - The San Antonio Family Association recently sponsored a gathering at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Honey Creek to inform interested citizens of the Bulverde and Spring Branch communities on how to work towards becoming a Sanctuary City for the Unborn. The basic purpose of a Sanctuary City for the unborn is to legally ban all abortions within the city limits. Sonja Harris reports on the gathering. "As Prolife advocates, our mission to continue the work to stop abortion has just begun and it gets more and more difficult with the present federal administration. We have to be creative in how we address this deadly atrocity and take our cities back. Godly lawmakers have to be elected in order to turn the culture of death into a culture of LIFE in our local, state and federal elections. America must be truly a 'Nation under God.'"
