THE WEEK'S BIG 3

A new international task force to combat antisemitism called the J7 was launched on Tuesday by ADL in partnership with national Jewish organizations in the U.S. and in six other countries with large Jewish populations. ADL expressed disappointment and concern over the passage of the Reasonableness Standard Law in Israel on Monday, emphasizing the need for continued dialogue. ADL and other Jewish organizations expressed concern over comments by Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, in which he defended the notion there were benefits to slavery by saying “utility” had kept some Jews alive during the Holocaust.

White House, ADL Condemn Greg Gutfeld’s “Horrid, Dangerous” Remarks About the Holocaust

“The White House has publicly condemned comments made by Fox News host Greg Gutfeld on Monday, calling them a ‘horrid, dangerous, and extreme lie that insults the memory of the millions of people who suffered from the evils of the Holocaust.’ On the Fox News talk show The Five, Gutfeld engaged in a debate with liberal-leaning cohost Jessica Tarlov after she expressed her discomfort with Florida’s new Black history standards, which require instructors to teach pupils “how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit’.” Vanity Fair:

Although it is unclear exactly what Gutfeld meant, one thing needs to be clear: All 6 Million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust had “utility.” Furthermore, the main argument in Frankl’s book was more about how those who had something to live for had a better mental chance of surviving because it motivated them not to give up.
