Almost two-thirds of women having a heart attack report non-chest pain symptoms, such as fatigue, shortness of breath and nausea, among others. However, half the time their symptoms are dismisssed or not recognized as being heart-related.
In Robin's case, she thought the pain radiating from her left arm was a pinched nerve. Two days later, she was rushed to the ER because she was having a heart attack. Like Robin, most women don't know the signs and symptoms a heart attack.
By making a donation this heart month, you can help WomenHeart raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of a heart attack for the millions of women living with or at risk of heart disease.
Supporters who donate $100 or more will receive a signature WomenHeart gift.
