Hi Friend,
Today, I want to address a critical issue that affects us all: gun violence.
Gun violence has become an alarming epidemic in our nation, and it’s time we take action to protect our communities and loved ones. We cannot sit idly by while innocent lives are lost to preventable tragedies. That is why I am committed to advocating for common-sense gun safety measures that respect the Second Amendment while prioritizing the safety of our citizens.
As for my opponent, his voting record makes it clear that his stance on this issue does not align with the majority of Americans who seek safer communities and schools. Here are some of his concerning votes:
Assault Weapons Ban - Stauber voted: No
Active Shooter Alert Act - Stauber voted: No
Bipartisan Safer Communities Act - Stauber voted: No
Protecting Our Kids Act - Stauber voted: No
Enhanced Background Checks Act - Stauber voted: No
In stark contrast, my commitment to the safety of our communities and schools is unwavering . I firmly believe that we can uphold the Second Amendment while enacting responsible and necessary gun safety measures. We need comprehensive background checks, mental health screenings, and common-sense restrictions on military-style weapons to keep firearms out of the hands of those who would misuse them.
Let me be clear: I am not advocating for a total ban on guns or taking away anyone’s Second Amendment rights. Rather, I am focused on implementing pragmatic solutions to address gun violence and safeguard our communities from harm.
Together, we can create a safer future for our children, schools, and neighborhoods. By electing representatives who prioritize public safety over partisanship, we can pave the way for a more secure and harmonious society.
