Hi John,
Did you know that 6 million Americans live within three miles from a coal-fired power plant? That’s 6 million people too many on the frontlines of health harming air and climate pollution. It’s a big problem, but one we can fix together. Here’s how:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new standards to limit climate pollution from fossil-fuel burning power plants. When finalized they will have a big impact. Studies show that EPA’s proposed limits would help cut 617 million metric tons of climate pollution from 2028 to 2042!
There’s only two weeks left until the comment period closes! Take action and help EPA rein in one of our biggest sources of climate pollution — power plants. . Submit your public comment before the August 8th deadline and raise your voice for cleaner air and a safe climate. [link removed]
We’ve said it before, power plant smokestacks are big emitters. In fact, they’re responsible for a quarter of all U.S. climate pollution! That’s why we need stronger limits to curb pollution from our biggest offenders — coal and gas-burning power plants.
By adopting strong, science-backed regulations we can keep the U.S. on pace to halve our climate emissions by 2030. But we have to act now. To avoid the worst impacts of climate change we need the EPA to finalize their standards by the end of the year.
Communities across the country are already suffering through devastating droughts and oppressive heat waves. Extreme weather events like these are only going to get worse if we don’t act quickly — which is why we need your help.
We need your help to support the urgent finalization of crucial climate standards. Join the fight for a healthy climate and stronger communities by submitting a public comment to the EPA, today! [link removed]
