Dear friend,
Choice in reproductive healthcare is sometimes hard to talk about. There’s no doubt that abortion is a difficult topic, and can cause dissent when we need consensus, or halt conversation when what we need more than anything is to talk to each other about it.
But here’s the thing: most voters agree with the outlines of Roe and believe that there must be limitations on what the government can do when it comes to a person’s choice to end a pregnancy. Most of the American public does not believe in absolute bans on abortion for any reason, and most also believe that the decision to end a pregnancy should be between an individual and their doctor—not the government. Most Americans are, in fact, pro-choice in their view on abortion.
Kathy has been endorsed by the national advocacy organization #VOTEPROCHOICE, and is working to organize voters in Missouri who are tired of the extremism of the Republican right on this issue. We still need $4,500 to reach our goal for the month so we can reach as many Missourians as possible—can you help us get there? [[link removed]]
If we are going to reach the broad majority of voters who feel, like we do, that being pro-choice is a reasonable position on the limits of the government’s authority over a person’s body, then we must raise money to spread that message [[link removed]] . In light of offensive abortion restrictions being pushed in Missouri, we need candidates who are not afraid of having the conversation and making the argument that reproductive freedom is essential.
Thank you for supporting Kathy and other authentic leaders who are not afraid to confront our issues head-on.
