Hey, John –
Ever wondered what running for governor looks like in the day-to-day? Well, today, I’m throwing back the curtain — here’s what a single day running for governor looks like.
Before I dive in, I could really use your help to hit our end-of-month online fundraising goal before the deadline. Please, chip in $5 to help me travel the state as much as possible and reach as many voters as possible before Election Day.
We started early with a coffee visit in Tallulah with Charlie Butler, the Madison Parish School Superintendent. We talked about teacher pay, retention, and certification, the importance of the MFP, the critical role of parents & more.
Later that morning, East Carroll Sheriff Wydette Williams gave me a great tour of Lake Providence, a community I have been visiting since 1998. We discussed rural development with education leaders, the Port Director, and the Hospital Administrator.
While in Lake Providence, I visited with Mayor Bobby Amacker and property manager Ranata Johnson, who gave me a tour of the impressive quality affordable housing available. This is another successful Louisiana Housing Corporation development. We need more of this to grow rural communities.
I concluded the evening in LaSalle Parish. Thank you to Pastor Chauncey Hardy, School Board member Melvin Worthington and Police Juror Casey Jones for joining me.
John, I’m putting in long campaign days like this one because I believe Louisiana’s best days are ahead of us, not behind us — but only if we work towards it together.
That’s why I’m counting on you to help hit our end-of-month online fundraising goal. Every dollar we receive helps us to reach more voters and keep our ads running, and missing our goal will mean cutting back these essential expenses.
So please, chip in anything you can to help hit our goal before the deadline and fuel this campaign with the resources we need to win.
