Lauren Boebert's CONVEY Act passed through the House Natural Resources Committee on Wednesday. The successful passage of the legislation focused on rural economic development brings it one step closer to becoming law. The bill would take over 31 acres of BLM land in Mesa County and allow the county to purchase it, cutting through layers of bureaucratic tape that would have previously slowed down the transaction. "I'm proud to have crafted a bill that earned unanimous, bipartisan consent and directly helps the voters of the 3rd District," Congresswoman Lauren Boebert said. "My CONVEY Act cuts through bureaucratic red tape and provides Mesa County with a critical tool in their effort to increase economic development. The work isn't done yet, but this is a major step towards getting this legislation signed into law." The CONVEY (Clifton Opportunities Now for Vibrant Economic Yields) Act provides Mesa County with the opportunity to develop the land and attract new industries, leading to an increase in job opportunities and an improved quality of life for the entire region.
