Hi John,

Asylum seekers continue to arrive in New York City daily, and the number of newcomers being moved to other cities across the state is rapidly increasing.

This moment calls for a robust, coordinated response from the Federal level down to local municipalities - one that will meet basic needs, but that will also help rebuild the system for all asylum seekers and refugees. The NYIC has been on the ground from the beginning, working to ensure our new neighbors are being met with dignity and respect. Will you join us in support of this work with a donation today?

To meet this moment, the NYIC has created the Welcoming NY: Resettlement Campaign, focusing on four key elements:

  • Advocacy & Policy: Advocate for robust government responses at the local, state, and federal levels, emphasizing the need for housing and comprehensive support to sustain and expand the humanitarian response.

  • Statewide Coordination: Ensure proper coordination and support for asylum seekers from the southern border, providing them with emergency shelter, healthcare, legal assistance, food, and basic essentials.

  • Service Regrants: Provide organizations across Western and Central NY, the Capitol Region, the Finger Lakes, and the Hudson Valley necessary resources in order to provide critical services.

  • Communication & Narrative Campaign: Combat anti-immigrant and isolationist narratives through strategic communication tactics, building local support for immigrant and refugee communities across the state.

Together, we can reaffirm New York’s storied legacy as a home that is welcoming to all. Donate today and support our critical efforts.

In solidarity,
