Friend,

Trophy hunters are gunning for the chance to “bag” their first grizzly bear.

That’s because for the first time in nearly a century, federal protections for grizzly bears could be stripped away. Threatened grizzly bears are protected by the Endangered Species Act. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering removing these critically important protections, allowing them to become the targets of trophy hunters.

At the same time, some members of Congress are attempting to remove key protections for grizzlies, gray wolves, and other species that could go extinct if their protections are lost.

We’re countering these and other threats to at-risk wildlife to save them from extinction. But we need your support. Will you make an urgent $20 contribution to help us fight these and all our battles to protect animals today? ([link removed])

Grizzly bears and gray wolves not only inspire awe—they are an important part of ecosystems. If their protections are removed, these magnificent and critically important species could be hunted to extinction.

From the 1800s to the 1930s, mass hunting of grizzlies left only 135 bears alive. Thankfully the remaining grizzly bears were given protections under the Endangered Species Act and as a result their populations are slowly rebounding. But they are no way near being recovered and their ESA protections are critically important to ensure their survival.

Grizzly bears, gray wolves and many other animals are running out of time. Please support our fight for all animals in need of protection with your gift. ([link removed])

Thank you,
