DHS Secretary Mayorkas Has Intentionally Instigated an Unprecedented Border, National Security, and Humanitarian Catastrophe

• Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
• Mayorkas has violated his oath of office, abused the powers of his office, and betrayed the trust of the American people, endangering the constitutional republic. He must be impeached. 
• Mayorkas is forcing DHS employees to release thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities. DHS staffers signed up for a law enforcement job and now they're being forced to harm public safety and national security.
• Secretary Mayorkas is refusing to admit that ICE enforcement statistics have plummeted under Biden. Between FY 2018 and FY 2022, ICE arrests of illegal aliens have fallen 69% and arrests of aliens with criminal convictions have dropped 65%.

Heritage Oversight Project Formally Opposes Hunter Biden Plea Deal with Court

• On Tuesday, the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project filed an amicus (or friend of the court) brief opposing Hunter Biden’s plea deal. As Hunter Biden’s plea deal unraveled Wednesday, Heritage Oversight Project Director Mike Howell witnessed firsthand the stunning turn of the events in the courtroom of U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika.
• Judge Noreika should be commended for pumping the brakes on this plea deal. Hunter Biden should stand trial and be held accountable for any criminal behavior he may have committed.
• The Heritage Foundation has maintained a strong position condemning the weaponization of government that has been on display throughout Hunter Biden’s case.
• Attorney General Merrick Garland swore to the American people that there would be an honest and independent investigation.  Sworn whistleblower testimony directly contradicts that, as does the admission from DOJ to us that thousands of pages of communications between the so-called independent investigation and Main Justice exist.

The Left Cares More About Pushing Radical Gender Ideology Than They Do About the Long-term Physical and Mental Health of Children

• The Supreme Court has recognized a 14th A. right to direct the upbringing of one’s own children for 100 years. As recently as 2000, it called this right “perhaps the oldest fundamental liberty interest” the court recognizes. 
• But this right does NOT extend to get experimental, dangerous, and life-altering medical procedures for one’s minor children – and the Supreme Court has never held it has. In certain instances, the Supreme Court has recognized the right to parent must be limited when the welfare of minor children is at risk. 
• As recently as 2019, an NIH study indicated that 58% of gender dysphoric individuals have co-morbid mental health diagnoses. Rather than shoving minor children down the trans medical pipeline, we need to address their mental health needs first.

Daughters of the American Revolution Faces Revolt, Resignations Over New Policy Admitting Biological Men 

• For more than 120 years, the Daughters of the American Revolution has brought together the female descendants of Revolutionary War heroes to promote “historic preservation, education, and patriotism.” 
• DAR organizers passed an amendment to the group’s bylaws in June that strikes out the line “provided an applicant for chapter membership is personally acceptable to the chapter,” and added another line, specifically stating that the DAR cannot discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, or sexual orientation. 
• DAR leaders defended the move as necessary to preserve the group’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. But DAR members from around the country told The Daily Signal that this is just an excuse their leaders are using to push woke ideology upon the historical society. 
• In phone interviews with The Daily Signal, outraged DAR members pushed back against the idea that it is discrimination only to allow biological women in their society and pointed to their religious beliefs and the science of biological sex as they disputed the notion that a man could become a woman.
