Hi john — Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act .

This ground-breaking legislation, signed into law by President George H.W. Bush, made huge strides to level the playing field for people with disabilities across the country.

Workplaces, schools, playgrounds, shopping malls, and so many other places around our country have become more welcoming and inclusive to people with disabilities, both visible and invisible.

But there is more to be done, and I’m working in the Senate to make our country more fair and inclusive for everyone.

I’ve worked with colleagues, both Democrats and Republicans, to improve access to healthcare for veterans with disabilities and for those seeking behavioral health treatment. I also proudly supported President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, which provides critical investments to make our transit systems more accessible for everyone.

On this anniversary, I am recommitting myself to protecting and expanding civil rights for people with disabilities — and I hope you’ll join my pledge to support and expand the ADA for years to come. [[link removed]]
