John,
Extreme weather events are destroying our water, air, crops and homes. We must take action to limit and avert these climate disasters.
The proof is all around us. Fire season is now year round, smoke and ash are heavy in the air, and heat waves are proving fatal for farmworkers and vulnerable seniors. We need legislation to help us prepare for and reduce the climate crisis and not harm working families.
I need your help. Sign our petition to demand Congress to pass legislation to address the climate crisis, help communities to be more resilient, and protect working families.
My love for Oregon’s environment dates back to my early years. From Steens Mountain to the Oregon Dunes, from the Rogue to the Deschutes River, from Smith Rock to Silver Falls — we are stewards of something precious and worth protecting. That commitment has driven my work to safeguard our environment and local economies, and to build healthy and resilient communities. Because when our environment suffers, we suffer.
This requires us to set aside politics and work together to alter the dangerous path we’re on. It’s fundamental to our economy and our identity as Oregonians.
The rise of natural disasters due to climate change serves as a stark reminder of the need to take action to halt climate degradation and help communities prepare for and respond to current extreme weather events.
Will you work with me today? The climate crisis is real and we must each do our part to enact effective climate solutions.
Thank you,
Jamie
