Wealth inequality is an existential threat to our Democracy.

Political scientists have found that the 400 richest Americans had 22,000 times the political power of the average citizen in the bottom 90% of wealth. That’s why Justice Democrats Summer Lee, Rashida Tlaib, and Jamaal Bowman just introduced the Oligarch Act, a tax on the wealthiest Americans.

There is absolutely no reason why our country should have people who have to choose between paying their bills or putting food on the table; especially when billionaires have private jets and super yachts — it’s immoral.

We’re angry, John. We’re living in an oligarchy and it’s not right or just or fair.
