Hey friends, I hope you’re having a great summer so far. I can’t believe how fast it’s going - August is less than a week away!
As fall draws nearer, the election cycle will begin to heat up. And with it, my re-election campaign will need to buckle down and focus on our budget, our plans, and our fundraising efforts in order to win in 2024 and help Democrats retake the House.
Before we get there, let’s just take a minute to catch up. Here’s what I’ve been up to this month: I kicked things off at one of my favorite spots, the Mission Valley Farmers’ Market, and then had a blast with Team SJ at the Scripps Ranch 4th of July Parade on Independence Day!

I had a great time playing in the annual Congressional Women’s Softball Game. Like in the halls of Congress, the press (our opposing team!) gave us a bit of a beating - but all in good fun and in support of a good cause. |
In the middle of the month I joined thousands of San Diegans to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at our Pride parade, and had the best day. |
And of course, I kept up with my work in the Capitol, including our ongoing battle to pass a defense bill that doesn’t include a host of Republican wish list items at the expense of our service members. (You can watch me share my thoughts here.) |
