Sherrifs Undermine Democracy Through Nullification ([link removed])

By Jessica Pishko

Daily Docket — Wednesday, July 26

Here are some recent updates.
* In a win for voters with disabilities, a federal court temporarily blocked ([link removed]) a Mississippi law that restricted who could help voters complete mail-in ballots.
* The Arizona Supreme Court denied ([link removed]) failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake's motion to transfer the appeal of her dismissed election contest directly to the state's highest court — again. A trial court rejected her contest twice for lack of evidence.
* Rudy Giuliani admitted ([link removed]) that he lied about two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, mishandling ballots in 2020. The revelation comes nearly three years too late and does little to repair the harm that Giuliani and other officials caused election workers across the country.

Here’s what to expect coming up.
* Tomorrow in Texas, there will be a hearing ([link removed]) in an election lawsuit where the defeated Republican candidate has alleged fraud and claims to be the rightful winner of the 189th Judicial District Election in Harris County.
